The Science of Certainty

The Science of Certainty is an installation that investigates how we know who we are in the world, and where our confidence and determination in our personality come from. Meeting different people brings out different qualities in us, one second in front of our parents, we become angry and accusatory while in front of a colleague at work, in a relationship, or in front of people with whom we are in hidden competition, we emerge as a completely different person. Childhood memories.  life circumstances sometimes manage us much more than we manage our lives. We are driven by conflicted forces that pull in opposite directions.

This show installation involves advanced technological robotic puppetry with light installation and sound. A robotic system that stretches Lycra fabric in different directions alongside lighting and sound work. The doll is a patient who meets with his therapist (actress Kaia Vinci) for a weekly session until one fine day she raises his price. Following his abandonment anxiety and her impostor syndrome and her difficulty raising a cost, both of them embark on a journey to try to understand who they are in the world. The play includes songs, texts, and the French psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan as a guest.
